ascribe to me a body...

ascribe to me a body
easily broken
that I might remember a story of every scar

assign to me a body
that I might hurt
so deeply
the only way to say would be
howling

attribute to me a body
that I might care
enough to miss you
and miss you enough
to care

ascribe to me a body
shaped by moments
so time with
you
is
carved
into my craft

author me a body
that I might write
of smoke & spark & flame
blissful fire...
sweet pain
timeless twilight
graceful dawns , easy waking,
dreamscapes, lifescapes, oceans, shorelines
thimbles...

ascribe to me a body
that I might die
with you
as my last thought

it is always so
i fear the scars
i fear to be hurt
i fear the loss
...... the touch
...... the love

i wear personas
i wear masks
i wear 'n wear 'n wear
to enclose
to shelter
the I...

and then
i miss the breath,
i cannot go on...

i know... now i know...
i should release the I
i should disclose
i shoud unravel
............... this lie

where is the loose thread?

i'll go on...

Harlequin...

your poem feels like rain
in a hot desert...
no... it does not refresh...
it revives!

this is Beckett... this art...

"to find the I"...

through a srtriptease...
:D

relevation... and then revelation...

hooray... i love this!

thanks for the thread you are pulling all through the way... from the beginning of the project...
love

There is no body
that considers
the pain sweet
or
the scars earned well.

There is only flesh
and
bone
and
the things contained therein.

I will give you,
ascribe,
describe
and
then let you have the body you want
but
do
not
let
me
be
your
last
thought.

That is more than a body can bear.

thanks for the real life comments here....
I have been committed to the Beckett thread from the outset and it has been a rich and wonderful exploration, made all the richer thanks to the other participants

a scribed body
a scribes body
carving a genuine self-authorship.

Thanks for sharing this, Harlequin.

I'm especially in the zone for it after all the phenomenology I've engaged with today....
