silence amidst silence...

Silence is not a mere
soundlessness
       nor a ground for sound
       nor completed through utterance
Silence is pregnant with possibility
       like the horizon
       like the cresting waves
       like the clearing
Not all silence says nothing
Not all speaking says something
Silence is positively brimming

the inexhaustible
chalice

silence
that calmness before the storm, eh?
when you feel the accumulation of electrons...

yes, the chalice is lovely ....
and also the notion that not all speaking says something....

it might not say nothing, but hmmmm, what does it say( when it says the something it says... )

nice to see you exploring that clearing...

I had in mind the idle talk I hear on the bus to school everyday. So much blathering.....

But now you've got me thinking...it's not up to me to decide that their blathering is meaningless, because then I would be ascribing to language and communication a sort of instrumentality (as in, say as much "substantial" stuff as you can with your statements), which is absolutely not what I want to say. But I suppose an economy of words is worth something...I like to think that brevity and succintness (is that even a word?) can hold more meaning than our instrumental reason suggests.

Silence, for me, is the soaking in of being supersaturated with life...

Derliwall.... you need to meet some of the kids/adults with Autism with whom I work... now there is an experience with language...
when next we do a F2F, let's talk about that...
